FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I bring with me?

Appropriate shoes/boots and clothing (including layers). Depending on the time of year and altitude gain, temperatures can range from cold-hot-cold on any given day. We offer sack lunches, snacks, cold and hot beverages, however feel free to bring any special items you would like to have along. Also, you may want to consider bringing a backpack, sunscreen, bug repellent, camera, etc.

Am I expected to tip my guide?

Although it is not required, tips are an essential source of revenue for our guides. We suggest tipping your guide approximately 15-20% of the total tour cost.

Do I still need to pay an entrance fee for Yellowstone National Park?

Yes. If you already have a park pass, please bring it with you. Otherwise we will need to obtain the appropriate fee at the entrance gate on our way into the park.

What time do I need to be ready for my tour?

Because you have booked a private tour with us, departure times can be established up until the day prior to your outing. We will contact you on the afternoon or evening prior to your trip to answer any last minute questions you may have. As a general guideline, we suggest you plan to depart by 6:00 AM for Lamar Valley wildlife trips (winter months) and as early as 5:00AM (summer months). For Lower & Upper Loop tours we encourage you to leave by 7:00 AM to beat the crowds. May we remind you that all aspects of your tour with us are customizable, that being said, we will leave on your schedule.

How do I book a tour?

Most of our tours are available to book online. Others will prompt you to send a form to request we contact you. In these instances, it is likely due to the fact that there are options available within the tour that we will need to discuss with you. What is your cancellation policy?

• More than 30 days prior to your trip, you will receive a full refund, minus a $50 processing fee.

• 30 to 14 days out from the scheduled tour day, you will receive 50% refund

• Within less than 14 days of scheduled tour day, there will be no refund
