YELLOWSTONE WOLF TOURS

Wolf viewing has become an extremely popular activity in Yellowstone National Park, as the park is one of few places where visitors can observe wild wolves.

Join us in the opportunity to view and learn about one of Yellowstone’s most famous apex predators, the Gray Wolf. Winter and spring months are historically the best seasons of year to view these wild predators in their natural habitat. Many of Yellowstone’s large ungulates (bison, elk, mule deer, and bighorn sheep), concentrate in the lower elevations of Yellowstone’s northern range during the winter & early spring months. This large concentration of ungulates, is the primary food source of gray wolves, which naturally attracts them to these areas. The conditions are “Prime”, so to speak, for wolf observation.

On this outing we will depart before sunrise and head into Yellowstone’s northern range & ultimately arrive in the wildlife rich Lamar Valley.

Our guides utilize many resources to keep close tabs on wildlife activity. We look forward to sharing this experience with you.

DID YOU KNOW?

This is the 25 anniversary of the reintroduction of the wolf to Yellowstone. A group of wolves from Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada, arrived at Yellowstone National Park on Jan. 12, 1995. The wolves were penned and given time to acclimate to the environment before they were released on March 21, 1995

Over the following couple of years, wolves from British Columbia and northern Montana were added, amounting to a total of 41 wolves released within the park.
